My friend from London absolutely hate the weather there. lots of fog...etc. I agree with Rainbow about the part time job issue. Plus, you can get more networking in NYC. I am not sure what is your field. But you can get easily get connection & contacts for jobs after you graduate. There are some exclusive clubs in the states that you can only join if you graduated from NYU. This might help your career advancement. Good luck!

If you are talking about London, the weather is very cold also.
You should look into southern part of the U.S. (Florida, Georgia, Texas, North Carolina - the weather is MUCH WARMER, I'm the opposite, I became very sick in Florida because my body doesn't adjust well to sudden warm weather) or California if you want warmer weather.
The cost of living in New York City is very high. But the upside is that you can easily find part-time job or internships while you are studying. It's not as easy to do that if you are studying in universities in rural towns, or suburban areas.

HI Yuki,
Watch out for the expenses in NYC. Renting a room in Manhattan is easily over $1000 US/month. It is actually relatively safe close to NYU. There are lots of police car patrolling the area. NYC is full of energy. You will probably like it.
