It is an international organization aims to improve communication and presentation skills. Membership is cheap. They have monthly meetings where members take turns to make a speech and comment on each others. Living in 外國 may not necessary help your communication skills. It all depends on the individual. I know some people from Hong Kong that only hang out with people from Hong Kong. So they end up speaking Cantonese all the time...not much improvement in their English communication. As 心易大 said, "事預則立", is very important. Good luck! Remember, practice makes perfect. Treasure all the opportunities that you have to communicate in English and your English will definitely improve!

[/equote] Yes, I agree. I have a cousin who came to the U.S. when she was 23 years old to study at a university for a degree. She only hangs out with Chinese people. Originally she wanted to study Finance, then she switched to Accounting because of her poor English skills. However, these 2 subjects were too difficult for her to handle. She ended up getting a degree in Marketing (with poor grades) and she could not find a job. She is currently 34 years old, she just married a Chinese man who is a U.S. postal worker (Postman / Mailman) this year. Till this day, her English communication skills are quite bad. I am not sure where she works. She's probably working in Chinese restaurants using minimal English words to communicate with customers (as waitress to take food orders), or odd jobs in Chinatown.

He told me to goa long time ago, i asked him if he is free to care of me if i go, he said that is of course OK! i trust him since he has promise me! Now i just have to think about when i go there, i go for a course or just hang out with my cousins?what kind of course suit able for me?
-- 作者: jennifer Sounds like you have a very good cousin that treats you like his sister. :) If you are interested to take a course, he is the best person to tell you about the area/school...etc. The reason why I suggested you to take a course is to meet more local people. This will give you an opportunity to emerge in their culture and practice your communication skills.

If you only have Hong Kong passport, vistor's visa only allows you to stay in the U.S. for 180 days (6 months). Student visa allows you to stay longer, provided that you are admitted into schools in the U.S. If you have Canadian passport, you are not required to get a visa to come to the U.S. If you have Australian or British passport, you can stay in the U.S. for up 90 days (3 months) without a visa. After 90 days, you need to get a visa.
