易经 is the basic or fundamental of 3 main 易,namely 周易，连山 and 归藏。Although the 3 sect have different symbol,name etc....but they consist of the main 8 卦 and the 64 卦。Till date，连山 and 归藏 scripts were said to be lost but these maybe just rumors.

Mr 周文王，the founder of the 周易, did his research on 易经 when he was imprisoned for 7 years. His researched have given us the 流行之易，also known as 后天八卦。There are more theories to be found if we carefully examine the 先天 and 后天八卦。

There were many arguments today about 易经 and the link to modern days Feng Shui practitioners, the main question revolve around the necessities to study 易经 in order to fully understand and practice Feng Shui. If we set aside all the 先天八卦 , the cosmic map etc etc...易经 do give us some understanding of 道 and 器。

Lets examine further a simple and basic theory, if a man point towards the EAST and say to you that is the direction EAST. Can we all see EAST? On the other hand, if we see the SUN rise at a certain direction, we all know that is EAST. Why is that so? Why this simple and basic theory has to do with 易经?
